SpectraBridge documentation

Getting started

SpectraBridge publishes a window, an application or a display as a Syphon source. Anything that reads Syphon — Resolume, MadMapper, VDMX, TouchDesigner, OBS — will see it as an ordinary source with no extra setup.

First run

  1. Open SpectraBridge. macOS will ask for Screen Recording permission — this is unavoidable, it is how the capture APIs are gated. Grant it and relaunch.
  2. Pick a source from the list on the left. Windows, applications and whole displays are listed separately.
  3. The preview on the right confirms what is going out. The footer shows the Syphon server name, frame rate and GPU cost.
  4. In your destination app, add a Syphon source and choose SpectraBridge.

If the source list is empty

That is almost always the Screen Recording permission. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording, confirm SpectraBridge is listed and enabled, then quit and reopen the app. macOS does not apply the change to a running process.
